Whitney young

was born near the coast of sunny, Southern California but has called Kansas City her home since childhood. Whitney has always had a creative mind and found herself drawn to photography at a young age, especially in the idea of committing a physical memory into the world. Photographs offered her a way to rationalize the new environment surrounding her. Photography allows her to express herself as someone involved in the community and environment and how those concepts interact with each other. Though photography is her tool for these sociological and conceptual expressions, she also tends to abstract the photos in different ways such as bringing in different experimental process techniques or collaging. Whitney utilizes the skills she has gained from her fine art experiences and translates these concepts into creative marketing to help commercial brands tell a story they can be proud to call their own. Currently she is a freelance creative content producer with experience in Creative Marketing, Photography, Videography, and Design. Whitney has worked with local and national brands such as the University of Kansas, US Air Guitar, Boom Boom, Donutology, Pierpont’s, Mid-America Chapter for International Interior Design Association, and Midwest Obesity Society. She has been formally trained in photo media and design and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Kansas.

Testimonials

Working with Whitney is always the best! She consistently has smart, creative ideas that align perfectly with our overall social media strategies. She’s also a talented content writer, photographer, and designer so I can trust her to execute campaigns, posts, and projects without worry. She’s also fun, open-minded, and easy to work with. I’m always excited when I have the opportunity to do so.
I would recommend Whitney to anyone who is looking for professional, top quality photos. Whitney went above and beyond what I expected. She is a real class act.
Working with Whitney is a breeze. She’s prepared, easy to work with, and capable of problem-solving/thinking on her feet. When I submitted the first video she shot to broadcast TV, they responded “who shot this and what are you paying them?”
As anyone in the creative arts knows, there is a certain knowledge that your craft must be
honed to a high degree of perfection to earn success. Whitney delivers the goods — and does
so with a smile. She has plenty of energy and enthusiasm for photography without the burden
of over-zealous ego. She just wants to shoot and produce quality work.
